One of the other missionaries here told me that ants don't like coffee grounds. It doesn't matter if they are used or fresh- either one repulses them. Obviously when I found my porch swarming with ants this afternoon I brewed a pot of coffee and smeared the grounds along my doorstep. Seems to be working so far!
